It allegedly takes 10 years for rising CO2 to increase downward longwave radiation (DWLWR) by just 0.2 W/m² (https://t.co/lIqHls6nVH).

In a new study, scientists don't even consider CO2's bit role in shaping DWLWR. They find that due to inability to accurately estimate or observe cloud radiative effects, model error (RMSE) in calculating all-sky DWLWR ranges from 15.6-19 W/m². This means a decadal-scale CO2 "signal" is ~87 times smaller than DWLWR measurement error. This precludes detection of CO2's role in DWLWR.
