It was supposed to be spelled out by the Constitution what the federal government gets to control and what the states get to control. Then through creative interpretation of the Constitution, the federal government took more and more power. Now it's kind of unclear and mostly whatever the Supreme Court decided at any given time.

The left, whether at the state or federal level, tends to get its way more often.

Another thing of note, regarding foreign affairs, is it's always the federal government that gets to decide. The federal government was supposed to decide foreign affairs and settle conflicts between states, and states were supposed to be in control of most domestic affairs, but now the federal government has taken a lot of that domestic affairs power for themselves.

@DmitriyLeybel @AkkadSecretary If the same regulation existed now as in 1938, there would be cheap houses and cars available for those who wanted them, and there would be people who wanted them. If you can't see that obvious fact, then I guess we'll just have to disagree.

@DmitriyLeybel @AkkadSecretary It's not really a dumb comparison. The point is people could live inexpensively in the past, but now it costs much more. It's not like we've lost the ability to make cheap houses and cars. We could do it even better. So why aren't these things available anymore?

Maybe someone should make temporary floating shielding for ships wanting to pass through. Kind of like a ship to contain the more valuable ships, and that won't be a big loss if destroyed. Two materials that come to mind for these ship shields would be pykrete or foamcrete.

Pykrete is ice and sawdust. It was developed in WWII for Project Habakkuk, a British plan for a massive unsinkable aircraft carrier intended to counter U-boats in the Atlantic. Someone should make a giant "U"-shaped pykrete shield for ships.

Another thing it could be made with is foamcrete or maybe foamcrete with additives like paper pulp and rebar. It could be modular like existing floating concrete breakwaters. They could be giant rectangles or squares with metal rings on the outside, allowing them to be chained or roped together at will. Any that are damaged can be replaced as needed. To save material, it can be made hollow, filled with plastic floats and seawater or sand so they can be made to the density needed to make them as low in the water as the ships they are protecting so that they will set off any mines before the ship. If seawater is used, then density can even be adjusted for the specific ship being protected by pumping seawater in or out. There could also be a way to attach a ceiling to the "U" for additional protection, maybe made out of metal netting or bars.

Another simpler idea would be to have an old unwanted ship going in front to trigger any mines that might be there. As for funding for these ideas, Maybe they could be rented out or funded by those concerned about the cost of oil and fertilizer.

You look up and see a man in a Ghillie suit with a rifle pointed at you.

Fear grips you.

You pull your gun and fire.

You’re just defending yourself.

This is your home.

You run back toward your parents, only to be sh*t in the back and k*lled before you can reach them.

You never understand what went wrong or why.

The next day, a sniper fires again.

Your mother, standing in the doorway holding your baby sister, is hit in the head and k*lled instantly.

All of this started because your father Randy Weaver, sold two sawed-off shotguns to an undercover agent and refused to become a government informant.

They gave him a false court date and set up armed surveillance at your home, waiting for the moment they could escalate.

Randy Weaver was a former U.S. Army Green Beret.

He served in the military before moving off the grid with his family in northern Idaho.

His military background added to the tension for federal authorities, because he was trained in weapons and survival, but it didn’t make him violent or a threat to anyone outside his property.

After an 11 day stand off with Randy and the baby inside with two dead bodies, the government was ordered to pay millions in settlements to Randy.

They were proven to be in the wrong for this deadly power trip.

But that doesn’t bring back a 14 year old boy or his mother.

Democrats literally changed it so it didn’t have to be first hand knowledge, and you need no evidence to make a claim for impeachment

There has never once been a civilization at any point in history that died from an aging population because it’s a problem that inevitably corrects itself. The population may wax and wane over the centuries, but low birth rates alone have never killed off a civilization.

Meanwhile, countless civilizations have been completely destroyed from unchecked immigration. And they were destroyed because everything you just articulated is actually the inverse of how civilizations form in the first place.

It’s particular peoples that produce particular civilizations. If you mass import a different particular group, then the civilization that original people produced dies.

If you need proof, you can ask the Romans.
