Given ‘law enforcement’ officers, even if we take them at face value, seem to be finding it impossible to stop the small boats, how could he make it more difficult than impossible?

But we all know what’s really going on- He’s just shown very publicly they’re not doing their job, and not even trying to stop the boats..
Their statement is simply a meaningless, defensive deflection.
