The Planet Saturn on 06-04-2022
Now that the Planet Saturn clears my Neighbors trees at 04:00am, I can try capture some planet images again, although it still sits pretty low in my southeastern sky. My backyard observatory in Ohio
What are your 2021 #goals ? They won't be as far in reach as M1 #CrabNebula SNR-Pulsar at 6,523 light years away! The central star spins rapidly & sweeps a pulse wave past Earth 33 times per second; 1,040,688,000x in 2021! My nebula prints are on my site: https://t.co/nSK5aOxbj0
#virtualholidaycard because it's 2020. Like the #star on your #ChristmasTree, the Andromeda #galaxy .The bright center shines bright w/ older stars. The colors on the back edge are caked w/both red nebula & young, hot blue star clusters. #Cheers to a #merrychristmas & Happy 2021!
The #jupitersaturnconjunction is happening now, for the first time in over 800 years! U can enjoy this w/anyone virtually, shortly after #sunset in the southwestern sky. The closest approach of the #planets will be on 12/21. Who will u be watching with?
I've spent my entire career building equipment to capture images of the cosmos & a published my book Galactic Images a few years ago! Consider supporting me & making someone very happy this holiday season by purchasing my book:

Here I am, in my #solar setup waiting for these clouds to disappear so I can watch the #sun & check 4 those #solarflares ๐ฅanyone w/better weather get some #photography of the Sunโs activity? #spaceart
A major #solarflare erupted Nov 29 & now there R at least 5 active sunspot regions on the Sun! Itโs awesome to see the Sun so active again after a deep #minimum . Here is the Sun in Hydrogen Alpha Light w/ massive sunspots in AR2786 & AR2785. #spacewatchers r u looking at this?
One of 12 setups I use to capture images for my #astrophotos in #ohio. I use the old orange tube #C8telescope w/a black dew cap. This gets me close-ups of galaxies, but I typically use #SCT for #planet work or small planetary #Nebula . My dome prevents a lot of dew from forming!
The Tadpole Nebula, IC 410, lies about 12,000 light-years away in the northern constellation of Auriga. The cloud of glowing gas is over 100 light-years across, sculpted by stellar winds and radiation from embedded open star cluster NGC 1893

Did you know you can view showstopping #SmallSagittariusStarCloud w/binoculars? At #M24 600 #lightyears wide &16-20K light years deep, it's the most dense concentration of stars visible & shouldn't be missed! Tell me what you're looking for #Tonight
Thanks @BillNye for the honor of being published in your newest #book ! Check out page 206 for a throwback from #1996 when I shot my images on actual #film ! Grab his book: Great Big World of Science.
These beautiful #november skies are the reason to go outside & discover #milkywaygalaxy & #starclusters & #Nebula . In September I shot #LagoonNebula & the Trifid Nebula Region. See more of my nebula archives https://t.co/nSK5aOxbj0
