The Ring isn’t technology or a tool. It’s an allegory for sin, not for power or the means to achieve power. If LoTR was yet another nonsensical story which waxes poetic about how “power corrupts,” then Aragorn would’ve never have taken his rightful place as king of Gondor, on the grounds that he could “become the next Sauron,” or some other silliness.

Let’s use a common analogy all conservatives ought to understand: good guys with guns = good. Bad guys with guns = bad. A man taking power and wielding it in accordance with what’s good and right is the definition of knightly virtue. That is literally what it means to be a hero, as opposed to a coward.
