The US is too competitive to not keep all of your options open.
😓 Also a bummer to think athletes skipped Indoor Championships to ready themselves for GST.
🚨 Grand Slam Track is costing athletes more than just the money they owe them.
Yared Nuguse is 12th in the Diamond League Standings. He effectively needs to race at both Silesia and Brussels to lock a spot in the DL 1500m final.
He then needs to win that final (🧵⬇️)
If Grand Slam Track doesn't pay up, he wasted the first half of his season racing in races that meant nothing.
That time could've been spent racing an additional race or two on the DL circuit - making his road the World Championship A LOT simpler.

@JasonMintz5@FloTrack@tracksmith Second on the All-Conditions all-time list. Not putting him on a Mount Rushmore quite yet but his name is listed with the All-Time American Greats in terms of that performance list.

Hate to hate, but this is a freezing cold take. If you're running elite times then you deserve the praise.
Imagine if they didn't put Cooper Lutkenhaus in that record setting 800m because he wasn't "proven".
Promoting the next generation of stars isn't being obsessive.
I don’t do hot takes but this is probably as close as I’ll get to one. The pro track world’s inclusion of and obsession with fast high schoolers as young as 13 yrs old who haven’t proven themselves on the pro scene (Quincy has) diminishes the value of pro athletes.
One of my favorite places to watch a meet … the @TerrierTFXC Track & Tennis Center. Back in Boston for today’s Battle in Beantown LIVE on @FloTrack . Don’t miss any of the action or my interviews with NCAA champions and top pros. Tune in at 1 ET for all the action.
Who is George Couttie and where did he come from?!
That's just one of our biggest surprises from the NCAA DI Regional Championships 🔽🔽
