A6) Firm data is needed to understand how to address the COVID issue. More broadly, NC has many healthcare issues to address such as rural hospitals, reducing costs thru telehealth, more PA responsibility, etc. It will take a non-partisan effort to address this. #covidNCed

A5) Simple clarification is House supported delay with solid reasons and Senate did not. There was nothing to trade off to get this in final negotiations. This is worth another try, but it is a very steep hill to climb #covidNCed

Q5. Some education leaders have called for delaying the K-3 class size requirement during this crisis, but the #ncga did not make changes last week to implement a delay. Can you provide clarity on that decision, and could a delay come during session later this month? #covidNCed

A4) The revenue shortfall will impact every area of NC budgeting. Any positive path forward has to be one of communication, partnership and realistic expectations rather than pointing fingers #covidNCed

A3) There is a long term need for recurring funding to address student health which becomes a budget discussion. Short term stimulus funding, which is not recurring, could be used to contract health services for a limited period of time to assist in the fall #covidNCed

A2) Schools need to honestly assess pros and cons of the last few months. Guidelines need to be established to define a successful program. Implementation plans should be spelled out to teachers, students, parents, etc. Standards should be set for quality and results #covidNCed

A1) Need to know requirements by district - infrastructure, devices, service - to develop a plan and budget. Also how to coordinate with healthcare, law enforcement. All being worked on now #covidNCed
