The addition of immunotherapy to chemotherapy may significantly improve progression-free survival for certain endometrial cancer patients, a phase 3 study shows.
Results from the RUBY trial indicate that patients with mismatch repair-deficient/microsatellite instability-high (dMMR/MSI-H) primary advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer benefited from the addition of dostarlimab to standard carboplatin-paclitaxel chemotherapy.
The four-year progression-free survival rate was 57.9% with the combination treatment, compared with 15.7% for chemotherapy alone.

📢 IPU Welcomes Publication of Bill to allow Pharmacist-Led Contraception Service
The IPU has long advocated for the expansion of access to oral contraception to make it available to women direct from pharmacies. We therefore welcome the publication of the Health (Provision of Contraception Prescribing Service in Retail Pharmacy Businesses) Bill 2026, which will, if formally approved, allow pharmacists to continue an existing prescription for contraception for eligible patients for short-acting reversible contraception such as the oral contraceptive pill, transdermal patch and vaginal ring.
