If this woman had gotten hormonal and slapped one of her children for screaming too much I would be open to a conversation about postpartum emotion control but that’s not what happened.

It’s not about need.

The law in Florida allows you to carry openly on your way to/from/during hunting, camping or fishing.

The law has changed recently to allow open carry anywhere, with rare restrictions.

He is testing his right in known jurisdictions that ignore the law so he can sue those jurisdictions breaking the law.

Thune claimed the talking filibuster “hasn’t been used in a century.”

Mike Lee corrected the record immediately:

It was used to break the weeks-long filibuster against the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Senators closed a 30-vote cloture deficit by forcing the opposition to actually show up and keep talking.

Lee’s point is simple:

All it takes is a Majority Leader willing to put the SAVE America Act on the floor and keep the Senate in session until it passes. If the other side doesn’t show up to talk, call the question and pass it with a simple majority.

No more excuses. The tool exists. The only thing missing is the will to use it.
