Beautiful baby boy! I've mentioned on here, but haven't really announced it: My husband and I are expecting another son this winter. He has a disability; we believe it to be manageable. We love him dearly.
The heaviness of the diagnosis (and the unknowns), the endless tests, the pressure from some doctors to "explore options" (hard no!) has put me in a dark place. Sometimes I only post the good parts of motherhood, but this is part of it too: grappling with the limits of our own control, bearing the extraordinary heaviness of the responsibility. But the Lord has great plans for us, He does not abandon us in times of need. He is forming our family in ways we don't fully realize.
Anyway, we think he's beautiful; here's a picture. Please pray for us and for his health. We know the burdens we carry now will feel small in time, with God's grace and provision, and that he is just nothing but blessing.
“Held accountable”
Here’s an idea. How about we NOT destroy the reputation of every person who happens to make a mistake or be an a** on camera?
A wild idea, I know.
Please pray for my daughter, Paige. She's on the way to the ER with my husband and oldest daughter after my son dropped her on her head this afternoon. She had a concussion and has thrown up a few times since. We're hoping to rule out a brain bleed.
The Trump administration's executive order gives the Department of Justice a chance to correct decades of distortions of federal law, which have resulted in states shuttering facilities for people with serious mental illness and other disabilities.

Trump Just Saved Thousands of Disabled Americans’ Jobs: A rule proposed by the Biden administration threatened to sideline thousands of employees; Trump’s rollback protects their dignity and right to work.
@JohnHirschauer for @CityJournal
For my brother Ben’s birthday, I reached out to all of the major 4 professional sports teams and asked them to send a t-shirt as he has started a collection over the last few years.
I was amazed at how many responded and what they sent. So I wanted to say thank you. THREAD:
New York’s assisted-suicide bill would enshrine in law a mistaken view of autonomy and suggest that some forms of suffering render life worthless.

The DOJ is reportedly investigating whether Illinois “unnecessarily institutionalizes” adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. For people in Illinois who rely on this form of care, the investigation threatens their homes, writes @JohnHirschauer.
The Arc, which advocates for people with disabilities, endorses New York's assisted suicide bill.
In 1978, the group's Delaware chapter passed a resolution demanding that the federal government pay for the abortions of women carrying disabled children.
Elon would do the world and his audience on this website a great service if he made it clear that the drivers of federal spending are not unspecified "pork" but rather a distinct group of health care and retirement programs that are all extremely popular.

@FrHilderbrand It’s not only a question of priorities; even if every issue in the diocese had been addressed, condemning altar rails and kneeling for Holy Communion would still be wrong.
"My daughter turns seven next month. I’ve long accepted that I may never hear her call me mom. I have grieved a million tiny deaths of the things I once assumed would be. And yet she is the most beautiful child I have ever laid eyes on."

She, thinking it was the gardener, saith to him: Sir, if thou hast taken him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.
Jesus saith to her: Mary.
