Sadly our wonderful John Hurr lost his brief battle with cancer on Saturday evening. He was without pain and surrounded by his family. A remarkable artist and proud grandfather, his passion for social justice and equality was inspiring. Rest in peace Dad #IamEuropean
An incredible moment in Congress.
Members of Congress chant “Slava Ukraini” and the Ukrainian President responds with “Geroyam Slava” as he holds back tears.

“Jeremy Hunt warned, unpersuasively, that successful strikes for higher public sector pay risk stoking inflation. Fast rising prices are causing public sector strikes, not vice versa”: excellent piece by @TorstenBell https://t.co/GdZbSiSKf1
"Nurses have taken strike action out of desperation, desperation over wages, desperation over working conditions, and the stress they're under because they have so many patients to care for." #FairPayForNursing@jeremycorbyn
I’ve seen, probably, a dozen attempts at ‘reforming the NHS’. Collectively, those efforts have wasted billions, distracted effort, sapped energy… and brought us to this day.
The amazing thing; despite all that, the NHS is still here. https://t.co/MEzqzn1lCD
@LBC@mrjamesob He has to go. #SteveBarclay and his hideaway boss Sunak are responsible for putting lives at risk yesterday, today and tomorrow. #BarclayOut.
It’s only been a nano second since Liz Truss was prepared to borrow £45 billion to fund tax cuts for the rich. I think Rishi needs to look at doing something pronto for all our NHS. We can’t survive without them. #NHSCrisis#NHSisBroken#ToryCorruption
Rishi Sunak says:
“I won't back down on strikes”
Like this is some game of chicken
He knows people will suffer
He knows nurses will feel painfully torn
And yet he, with no skin in the game, is happy to prolong this with no end in sight.
He doesn’t give a f*ck.
