Are EO downstream companies struggling to find PMF or struggling to build real product?
My observation is the latter is more often the case.
Furthermore, I’m surprised nobody ever discusses the elephant in the room which is that, for 90% of commercial use cases, there is NOT ENOUGH predictable, affordable, high quality/resolution data available from remote sensing systems to achieve them.
Example: while leading https://t.co/biJltEF7t4 and working with insurers across North America, APAC, and Europe we found that at best 60-70% of all residential properties were captured once a year with aerial imagery (the number was far worse for satellite imagery - even at 50cm - which is insufficient to analyze detail required).
In a wold of “failed” attempts, it concerns me that this fundamental issue isn’t being identified. Convince me I’m wrong?
7 | We often say "Ad Astra" (to the stars) to celebrate a launch or announcement in the remote sensing industry, but today I say "Ad Populum" (for the people) because doing better at solving the people we serve by bringing our capabilities together is truly what this is all about.

2 | From my vantage point as Head of Product, in our industry the single most excited individuals about the latest sensor/constellation/data product all work in the companies that make them, and we don't spend enough time thinking from a customer perspective on how all of these things come together to help the users we serve achieve the mission value (Defense) or generate more ROI - save money, or make money - (Commercial) they need to use them.
