Can everybody not boarding the Europa Express please mind the gap, the train is about to leave the station. Unbelievable man. Europe! ๐ช๐บโค๏ธ๐ค
One year to the day since everything changed for #SAFC. Since then we've had massive wins, class signings, a world class captain and a quiet French genius making us a force to be reckoned with. One more push to take us into Europe for the first time in 50 years. Ha'way the lads.
Sensational. Enzo magnificent, O'Nien solid as a rock and RLB owning that horror Moyes. This team is a different animal to the Sunderland teams I've watched over the decades. Whatever happens next week they've been absolutely phenomenal.
Absolute sickener. Chance was there for one of our most memorable wins in years but ended up with nowt. What a team though, can never feel anything but proud of these lads.
@bywater_paul@RokerReport They've earned my trust that they'll bring in somebody good but not many would've done a better job than Bruce over the last couple of years, so find it hard to believe it's performance related. Sounds like they want to bring in a CEO instead, fair enough but tough act to follow.
On the one hand Farage is a serial liar so got to question what he says. On the other hand, Sartori is mates with Methven so wouldn't be surprised. Either way, don't let him use our club to propagate his lies. You can't preach the importance of community and divide it like this.
Bumping into mags this week:
> Tell you what, Sunderland deserved to win
Oh... are they going to give us some credit here?
> Newcastle were shit
Probably not...
> Two shit teams but we were shitter
There it is ๐๐ผ
That's up there with one of our best ever derby wins for me. Team decimated by injuries, patchy form, mags desperate to get one over on us, worst possible start to the game. The way we came out and showed no fear in the second half is all you can ask for in a derby. Iconic win.
@DougieCritchley I really hate to say it, but Roefs would be perfect for them. The opposite of Sanchez when it comes to composure and stability. Hopefully they're too blind to see it and we get at least another season out of him!
So proud of #SAFC. Written off before a ball was kicked and yet haven't been in the relegation battle for a single minute of the season. On the pitch and off the pitch, in the dressing room and in the stands, just absolutely outstanding from everybody connected to the club.
Felt inevitable but still gutted to see Dan go. Would have loved to see him given more of a chance this season, but equally can't complain when you look at who kept him out. Will never forget how he stuck by the club at our lowest ebb. Hope he's celebrating another promotion soon
We can today confirm the departure of long-serving midfielder Dan Neil.
Neil has joined Ipswich Town on loan until the end of the season, ending his 18-year association with Sunderland at the end of his contract in June.
He lived the dream, and we all wish him well in the next chapter of his career โค๏ธ
@Capt_Fishpaste I half expect we'll sign players in positions we're already strong with an eye on them being a long term replacement down the line. Like we did with Mundle when we already had Clarke. So a GK, CB or CM wouldn't surprise me, given we'll likely be weighing up offers in the summer.
