@StarLineChicago 100%, and you’d definitely upset some people with whatever you chose (as a 30-something with a kid and no affiliation, I would have been annoyed if they called Fullerton “DePaul”), but in the best cases, transit system station names have a way of “normalizing” the vernacular
@StarLineChicago Though at first glance it seems like using the intersecting street makes sense, I always felt having the station named after the neighborhood, geography, or major attraction (more like London, or even the old stockyard branch) would make it less confusing and more locally iconic
@StarLineChicago Which governing body is best suited/equipped to spearhead the tunnel build? We know, ideally, all Chicagoland transit should be consolidated into one org, but assuming that doesn’t happen, who can lead this?
@BoilerInTexas The students need to be in one contiguous section. Preferably in an intimidating place, like how nearly every other big ten school places them
@TheRealKatPat Just had this exact discussion. Green has the contrast stitching for the logo, which looks amazing, but gives fall/winter only. Lighter blue leans spring summer. Darker blue goes all seasons. Brown is brown.
@Nerd4Cities I love Chicago and our rich transportation history, but Union Station is so incredibly underutilized, and the fact that commuters/every day passengers scurry through the utilitarian underground maze for the track concourses gives off serious Penn Station vibes
@Nerd4Cities I’m in Wheaton, IL now after growing up in the suburbs and spending a decade in Chicago. Wheaton isn’t the best, but like many old Chicago suburb downtowns, it grew along interurban lines and has many walkable amenities. Beyond the downtown, though, and things are… less good
@sundayscaries Mine is on a wifi smart plug that’s scheduled to turn on 15 minute before we typically get in bed and turns off when we need to get up. If yours is a spare Hatch (baby light/noise machine), their app does that for you
@JeremyAnder199@BoiledSports No, I think you’re into something. For some reason, this bracket has Rutger getting a double bye as a 4 seed. That can’t be right
