@Larryferlazzo@TheRealNELMS Motivate the Unmotivated by @Rob_Plevin because it is insightful with research backed practices but is not overly heady and actually gives practical advice for engaging students. Led a PD on it with my staff. They loved it!

Educator friends: have you ever wondered about self pacing in your classroom? I was a guest on @modernclassproj podcast to answer some misconceptions about self pacing. Check it out on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever else you get your podcasts! https://t.co/yFxFRBCvrg
@SteeleThoughts Realizing the power of formatively assessing throughout the learning process so that reteaching can occur and so that success on the summative assessment can tell a story of progression rather than being an arbitrary labeling of student intellect
Very Excited to announce the publication of my first exemplar unit through @modernclassproj This is a unit for 7th grade Social Studies. It is self paced, mastery based, uses blended instruction. Check it out!

Congratulations to our new Distinguished Modern Classroom Educators (DMCE's)!! DMCEs are educators who run blended, self-paced, mastery-based classrooms of their own. They implement our instructional model effectively so that each of their students truly learns.
@davestuartjr As a high school teacher what doy your think are key social studies and ELA skills that I, as a middle school teacher should teach students before they get to high school
Its painfully ironic that the same people who call mask mandate "government overreach" are the same that have no issue with the government trying to mandate patriotic education to the exclusion of honest and critical reflection... just sayin
@SiriLeen These are great! I actually turned a job down once because they said the require ELA teachers to use reading logs. I also did a lot of scaffolded silent reading during summer school and both the kids and I loved it!

Thanks to some really generous donation I have been able to purchase 96 new books for my classroom. I would love to keep adding to this collection and also am looking to do some flexible seating options this year. Donation Details below!
I'm convinced that students don't actually hate reading. They hate analyzing texts to death until the reading becomes no fun. If we provide opportunities to read meaningful texts just for the sake of enjoyment and learning they will find that they actually kind of like it #read
With smaller class sizes, more curricular autonomy, and more scheduled breaks for students, I actually feel like I do my best teaching and see the best results in Summer School. I wish these things were the norm. #education#classsize#summerschool
