@ThatNYsportsguy@TheMetsX@dominickwusher Agreed. I’m not even arguing he’s done a good job because there isn’t even an argument. He’s clearly run the team poorly as shown by the outcomes, but firing him makes no sense for various reasons including the fact that a lot of guys have just simply underperformed
@TheMetsX@ThatNYsportsguy@dominickwusher Baty did play multiple positions in the minors, but regardless his bat absolutely sucks this year. Same with Vientos. Same with Mauricio. Senga and Peterson all completely unplayable. Sure he could’ve had some magic foresight and shipped them all out but I’d still blame them
@TheMetsX@dominickwusher@ThatNYsportsguy Point the finger at him over the players themselves. It’s so short sighted to me to automatically blame the GM and it’s just an easy excuse to fire someone when the bigger issue imo is the players just not performing
@TheMetsX@dominickwusher@ThatNYsportsguy If it was painfully obvious to sell Vientos, Baty, etc, then I get it, but there really was no reason to think they’d be this bad. Same with Senga. I’m not defending Stearns but I can’t stand when people are so quick to point the finger at him…
@CoreySeidman@ADRellim@RAJr_20 If you look at the freeze frame he would’ve been out. Also how is that not routine for the first baseman? I mean what are we doing here
@TheMetsX@dominickwusher@ThatNYsportsguy Stearns was also given Baty Vientos Alvarez Mauricio. The roster he built wasn’t terrible on paper. The players just have been playing like shit
@TheMetsX@dominickwusher@ThatNYsportsguy The fact that Stearns was amazing for MIL and their current GM literally worked under him. They are getting better because he put an amazing system in place
@TheMetsX@brandoninNY So why are you allowed to be mad at Stearns aiming to offload our payroll in 3 years by not signing Alonso/trading away nimmo for Semien AND be upset that he isn’t drafting well while having bad draft capital?
