Hi there!
I'm usually elsewhere lately ...

I'm guessing X will completely throttle this tweet, of course, so I doubt you will ever see it unless you go looking.
😀
@mikekalilmfg Yep, but the good news is it has more cash to build the next thing, and more data than the startups to make it smarter/better/more capable.
Exciting news from Agility Robotics:
- Digit v5 coming in 2026
- Digit will be a cobot ... working "out of the cage"
- 20-hour humanoids: they'll be able to work for 20 hours
- hot swappable hands AKA end effectors
- & much more!
Humanoid Daily is on Apple, Spotify, & YouTube.
@EvanKirstel here's the training: a good family, loving parents, a good school with wonderful teachers ... and an open heart for the challenges others face.
in other words: the village, and a mature, good person
Prediction: The Japanese tech giant SoftBank will lead a major funding round (over $1 billion) into 1X Technologies.
It will go toward building out manufacturing capacity in the US and Japan. They will scale its NEO humanoid robots like they did Pepper, though hopefully with a better outcome this time.
1X has been reportedly been seeking a massive funding round since last year. They need it to deliver on what they’ve promised.
@PeterDiamandis@adcock_brett question ... what does this have to do with a humanoid robot company? is this part of the vision, or something totally separate?
is the idea that Figure can help with physical AND digital tasks?
@adcock_brett Why is a humanoid robot company making this and how will Figure 03 or Figure 04 use it?
Is this part of the overall vision that your humanoid robot can do both physical and digital tasks for you, or is it completely separate?
China has a mass humanoid robots patent lead, either way you look at it ...

A new @Forbes piece by @JohnKoetsier explores the case for DNS-anchored identity as foundational infrastructure to establish AI agent accountability, and why Vint Cerf has joined the effort. #AIAgents#DNSid https://t.co/pyEkwAKDMk
It's hard to imagine anything more nerve-wracking than being the guy who has to physically nudge Putin away from the heavy-duty humanoid robot a few weeks after Russia's first general-purpose humanoid dramatically face-planted.
In the short-term, the biggest loser in the US’ ban of Chinese humanoid and quadruped robots could be the organizers of CES 2027.
The 2026 show was basically WAIC: Las Vegas.
Robots could take a backseat especially if exemptions aren’t made for foreign-made robots from other countries.
@boxcardavid Most of the promising American humanoid robot startups are making their own ... Apptronik, 1X, Figure ... etc.
Some are going extreme with vertical integration (1X).
That said, there's a wider robotics ecosystem, of course, and effects will be significant.
