Deputy Hector Cuevas Jr. was killed in the line of duty on March 17, 2025, when he was involved in an on-duty traffic accident and tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Hector was hired in January 2018. He worked at the West Valley Detention Center and was assigned to patrol at the Victorville Station in July 2019. He lateraled to the Upland Police Department, where he served from July 2019 through February 2021. Hector returned to the Sheriff’s Department in February 2022 and resumed patrol duties at the Victorville Station in March 2022.
Hector is survived by his wife, two children, and his parents.
