This has always been my life philosophy. You get to decide the people you hang out with and who you allow into your inner circle. I’ve always tried to spend time with people who support me and encourage me in my dreams. People who help me adjust and course correct rather than just tell me why it won’t work. And vice versa. It’s a two-way street. Don’t let someone talk you out of your dream. And don’t you dare talk someone out of their dream. Keep going. You’ve got this.

I was lucky enough to live in NYC in the 1970s. The era of Andy Warhol and Studio 54. I met Halston, too. He gave me 3 ultra-suede blazers in his Madison Ave boutique. It’s hard to recognize the significance of a moment in history when you’re in the middle of it. Keep a diary.
