@Bubblebathgirl@VP Rape is wrong and so is denying the right of women (and their partners) to abortion. Just because you don't like the idea doesn't mean you have a right to deny women the right to make up their own minds what they wish to do with an unwanted pregnancy.
@DrCraigEmerson The Voice has been cancelled. The Ambassador of the Tent Embassy invites all ALP delegates to a smoke social on the embassy lawns at King George Terrace Parkes this Sunday at 4pm. BYOG. Ladies please bring a plate.
@RBAInfo You've stuffed it up. You dropped interest rates too low during Covid and you should have taken interest rates back to where they were prior to Covid. You've crucified mortgage holders and renters for no good reason. I'm still waiting to see you monetary policy algorithm
@RBAInfo Where is the algorithm? CPI increase was .8% for last quarter. Where I come from .8x4=3.2 (not 6). The RBA needs to lower interest rates back to what they were before the pandemic - and let the economy settle back itself.
@normanswan 'Fitness' the word that dare not speak its name in most surgeries. Rarely prescribed in a scientific dosage: rarely measured, managed or monitored.
@DrCraigEmerson Just say it! On another issue, the new Guvnor wants to increase unemployment. I don't know anything more unAustralian. My suggestion is that she be the first to go.
@abcnews@PatsKarvelas I'd blame the dills running the RBA. Putting up interest rates doesn't lower increased prices due to supply holdups, labour shortages, wars, plaques, floods, poor C/W govt mgmt of gas royalties and dishing out too much money for child aged and medical care ...
@RBAInfo CPI goes up due to Covid reflation and causes outside our control. RBA puts up interest rates. CPI goes down. RBA says it's because they put up interest rates. RBA has fallen for post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy.
@DrCraigEmerson@RBAInfo YNW - and along with that, interest rates are killing those with mortgages and renters who have had (due to interest rate rises for owners) their rents put up by around a third. The government has lost control of its own bank.
@DrCraigEmerson@RBAInfo Well it's time you did. I asked a car dealer why new and used cars are so expensive. He said because we can't get enough cars into the country. The RBA calls that inflation and put up interest rates. Give them hell Craig.
@Billyburns38444@TurnbullMalcolm All the Courts need to prove is that Trump was the creator and driving force behind the insurrection and invasion of the Capitol - all with the aim of disrupting the peaceful transition of power. If you see the Biden side show raised in a post you're dealing with a Trumper.
@LenoriDude@DrCraigEmerson Backward-shaping the 'inflation' stats isn't worth much either. Last quarter CPI, 0.8%; maybe that's the best stat to go on. Meanwhile the RBA rains fire on mortgage holders and renters. What we've been experiencing is post covid 'reflation'. It's going away of its own accord.
@DrCraigEmerson I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again - at the Garran Bakery. Meanwhile the CPI has slipped to 3.2% per year.
I wanted to give a Logie vote to Steve Grahame star of Outback Truckers. He wasn't in the line up. He's a true blue, fair dinkum, four square, salt of the earth, ridgy didge Australian TV star.
@1RossGittins You're not wrong, but it could have been much better for the Government to get its hands on all the economic levers, including monetary policy and the setting of interest rates. The RBA lacks transparency. The Govt should demand it publish it's interest rate setting algorithm .
@sallyrugg Nope, it's the result of the RBA putting up interest rates. The effect of interest rate rises does not fall evenly on us all. Neither does is stop the Ukraine war, lower the price of vegetables, increase the supply of overseas building materials ...
