Hon. Justine Nameere has issued an apology to the NRM flagbearer in the Kalangala by-election, making it clear she won’t hit the campaign trail for her.

Nameere said she can’t go up against the NUP contender because the family of the late Hon. Hellen Nakimuli handpicked that candidate. She argued it would be heartless to undermine someone backed by Nakimuli’s relatives, including the legislator’s own daughter, given how the former MP died.

She also shared that losing her mother early in life gave her firsthand insight into the hardship of growing up motherless. With Nakimuli’s daughter publicly urging Kalangala voters to support Irene Nampala, Nameere said she simply can’t bring herself to oppose that plea.
