Word of advice for aspiring writers: don’t ask friends, relatives, or even acquaintances to read your book. If they don’t like it, you’re putting them in an awful position.

Yup. Twins did beta read of my second draft and not only felt quite different about the book overall, but had a very different approach to how they critiqued it. I think I just got good-cop bad-copped by 17 yr olds! #WriterCommunity #writerslife

Beta Reader 1 of 4 was happy with what she read (my 3rd book). Will be interesting to hear what her twin sister has to say. I tutor twins all the time in math. Their abilities are often quite different (and yet the stronger one doesn’t help the weaker one).

Word count is my nemesis right now. I was hoping to get my second draft under 100K. Instead it’s grown to 123k. Line edits can be great WC reducers, but 20%? Oh boy!
