I know a wealthy businessman in Onitsha who was sponsoring a lady through the polytechnic.

When she got to HND level, she started avoiding outings with him. Anytime he suggested they go somewhere together, she always had an excuse.

Eventually, she told him the truth: “he embarrassed her whenever he tried speaking English in public."

The man went and bought a form in the same polytechnic, enrolled, and completed his HND while they were still dating.

On his sign-out day, he organized a small celebration. The lady thought he was about to propose.
