@IndigoFast James - it might help you (or not) to think of Indy as a series of steps and that we have already completed a number of steps toward the point where we have fiscal independence (or whichever stage you consider constitutes Indy).
It could be argued that it took USA 40 years.
@Bingbud I really can't see any other way out - as we are going round in ever decreasing circles.
Happy to hear your ideas - but I think decompressing the top flight is the only practical solution (although not pain free).
@Bingbud I hear that Alan - but if the entire league lost 10% of their budget - we would all cut our cloth accordingly.
I genuinely would prefer to see everyone being forced to survive using young Scots. It would hurt our coefficient for a number of years - but who really cares?
@Bingbud That's partially correct Alan - but that narrow short term interest is what drags teams into that vicious circle.
My eccentric view when I hear there is insufficient money in our league is to reflect how much money was in our league in the 60s and 70s. We cut our cloth to suit.
@Bingbud Alan - my theory is that we are in a vicious circle. The old firm competition leads to more foreign players coming into the game which gives no room for development of home grown talent. Then teams like Saints get into the sane cycle.
The solution for me is a bigger league.
@andydorman87 Great shout sir
I can't get these guys who get on top of guys who are trying to get up to their desired level of fitness. This is crucial for all players - but strikers more than anyone as it feed's confidence.
James S will be an important player for us.
If you think all the anti Scots are south of the border. Forget it. The most virulent ones are among us. Look no further than the Tory and Labour Councillors in Stirling who gave planning permission for a trotting track at Bannockburn. Knee bending traitorous scoundrels.
@saintmirrenfc@markohara52@UltimateHomeSo1 Back to his best.
He seems to have adjusted slightly where he is positioning himself which is getting him back in the heart of things and he thrives on this.
@bawarmy Sorry bud.
Not buying this.
A team we failed to beat last week need to be given full respect.
I am sure SR and the lads will be giving them this respect.
@RutherglenRef Do you know the difference between 'clean energy' and 'green energy'?
Green energy is that produced via renewables like wind, solar and tidal generation.
Clean energy also includes nuclear generation.
We in Scotland have an abundance of Green energy. WE DONT NEED NUCLEAR!
@StokeyyG2 Can you really compare a guy who plays a game wearing a suit, a guy who sits in a motor vehicle and a guy who throws darts with athletes like Murray and Bale?
I am not denying their skill - but I don't class darts, golf, motor racing, snooker with rugby, football, athletics etc.
