I’ve used this account for various things over the years, but I have decided to pay for a blue tick because I was upset while away in Vietnam to speak to a very thoughtful and sane retired Canadian couple who genuinely thought the UK is kind of lawless. This is because of lying, usually right wing engagement farmers who clearly hate the UK, running it down. So I am going to do the little I can to add some reality.
NEW: The BBC has apologised to Nigel Farage, and will make an additional apology at the start of tonight's episode of Newsnight.
Last night's broadcast has also been removed from iPlayer and Sounds.
We await Reform's verdict on whether they deem this sufficient...
Every life matters.
One law. One standard. For everyone.
This is about justice, for Henry, for his family and for all our children. They deserve better.
I am a child psychotherapist in private practice, it is definitely possible to argue some parents are paying twice - CAMHS via taxation, and me. I like to believe what I do is a public good, or at least helpful to the young people I see, but if I turned over above the threshold I would pay VAT (I would consider this a nice problem to have), because despite wanting to do meaningful and valuable work I am also not accidentally making money - and nor are the schools.
On the 28th May 2026, Bharti Fulmali appeared for India in their T20 win over England in Chelmsford.
In women’s cricket.
We need cheap, easily-available sex screening, pronto.
It's very good that the Code has been laid, but it's also important to be clear that it is not for lawyers or judges. It’s for members of the public who are not trained lawyers to help them to understand the law. The Code of Practice does not make new law; it merely provides authoritative guidance to the public on what the law is.
Let me put the record straight in plain English.
We had no plans at all to visit this venue. Rob was taking us on a tour of the constituency to places which meant something to him. He took us to an old factory site next to the canal to start the tour. This was a factory where Rob used to work ( if you're not familiar with the term 'work' it's something working class people do day in day out and it involves getting your hands dirty).
As we drove around he decided to take us to a fishing lake where he has fished. Once there we saw a cafe and decided to have a cuppa and use the toilet.
I am confused as to why the lady sent the letter as she sat with us talking to us all about the cafe and the challenges it faces. She then asked for a selfie with Rob and Nigel and thanked us for the visit. We then left.
On entering the car park I came across a very shaken looking @christiancalgie who I believe had been subject to a torrent of verbal abuse, some of it by yourself. We know there is a lot of pressure on yourself to become Labour leader but this type of gutter politics has no place in the UK.
The cafe is a great place doing great work and as a supporter of these types of establishments I know full well about the financial challenges they face and the conversations these establishments have with politicians to secure funding. It now makes me wonder why this letter has been sent and I just hope this cafe is not being taken advantage for political gain.
These people have cheered on Steve Bray shouting at Reform and Tory MPs for the past several years. As soon as a working class guy dishes it out to a terrible Labour chancellor, all of a sudden they’re livid.
@EssexPR Hi, I’m working class, I have never shouted at anyone out of a car window and driven off. Can you tell me when this working class tradition started or where I might find other examples. Thanks very much.
