Tonight the Boston Bruins are playing the Buffalo Sabres in Buffalo.
Two American teams.
Buffalo always has someone sing both National Anthems before their games.
When the microphone cut out the crowd took over.
This is how our American friends treat us. With respect.
This is what being classy looks like. Canadians can learn something.
This is gonna sound really corny but there’s no other sport that can beat how well baseball tells the story of failure.
Every professional sports league involves a laundry list of hurdles to get over before you officially make it and those hurdles for each sport are not to be underplayed.
But the inherent hurdles woven into the game of baseball itself are what makes shit like this so beautiful to watch and so authentic of a moment for the guys on the field. There’s no other sport you get paid millions to fail more than 75% of the time.
And for these guys over seas (many of whom came from very little relative to the lives they live now), all they knew was working over those failures. Questioning since the time they picked up the bat if they’d even make it to the states to play ball let alone make it in the league.
No other sport do you have to climb over dozens of 0-for slumps, dozens of bad stretches of play over the course of 162 games. And it’s why nobody should ever tell these dudes to tone down their emotion on the field man they deserve to react with every ounce of passion they’ve poured into this cruel ass sport their entire careers.
Every year on Super Bowl Sunday I find myself thinking about what today would be like in WNY if the Bills were playing. What would it be like in the grocery stores? Would churches be packed or empty? The nervous energy I’m sure would be insane. Maybe one day.
Can’t wait to rock the red helmet on Sunday with #BillsMafia Repost today for a chance to win this helmet 🥶🥶⛄️signed by yours truly 😉

The Oakland A’s were killed by greed. Do not allow the people responsible for this to spin it any other way. John Fisher did not have to move this team. Major League Baseball and its owners did not need to be complicit in it. This was a choice. A wrong one. History will sneer.
Please consider supporting as Joe looks to raise awareness and support for his cousins baseball league, the Elma Dream League, which allows special needs kids from WNY to play the game they love.
