Awali ya yote kwa msiofahamu EACOP ni nini

EACOP ni mradi wa bomba la mafuta ghafi ambao unajengwa kutoka Kabale Uganda ambako ndo wanatoa hayo mafuta ghafi.

Bomba linatoka Uganda hadi Tanzania ambako linapita Mkoa wa Kagera, Geita, Shinyanga, Tabora, Singida, Dodoma, Manyara mpaka Tanga ambapo hiyo malighafi ikifika Tanga inasafirishwa kwenda Ulaya kiwandani kwa ajili ya kusafishwa ili yawe tayari kwa kuuzwa

Katika mradi huu Total Energies ya Ufaransa wanamiliki asilimia 62 ya huu mradi wa bomba la EACOP,

Kampuni ya China CNOOC inamiliki aslimia 8 za huu mradi.

Wakati huo The Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) ambako ndo yanatoka mafuta ghafi inamiliki asilimia 15

Na Tanzania kupitia TPDC inamiliki 15% tu licha ya kwamba Tanzania tumetoa 80% ya ardhi yetu na baadhi ya maeneo ambayo mradi huu unapita kwenye mbuga zetu za Wanyama na kwenye vyanzo vya maji kwa Ziwa Victoria.

KWANINI NASEMA TUKATAE MRADI HUU

Kwanza nitaanza na sababu za kimazingira maana mazingira is our Mother Nature, ukiharibi kwa namna yoyote ile ni ngumu sana kurestore na madhara yake yataturudia wenyewe.

Hili bomba linapita chini ya ardhi na EACOP wanasema kwamba Bomba hili ni la moto so litakuwa linachemsha ardhi kwa joto kali licha ya hawa Wanyama wakubwa wa juu bado chini kuna micro-organisms ambao kimsingi wanasaidiaga hata kufanya decompositions of biodegradable products ambazo zinazlisha manure.

Kwahiyo kama ikitokea bomba linapopita kwa namna yoyote kukiwa na leakage tayari tunakuwa tumehatarisha viumbe hai ambao wapo ndani ya ardhi.

Bomba hilo linapita karibu na ziwa Victoria ni hatari kubwa sababu inapita kwenye baadhi ya mito ambayo inapeleka maji ziwani so hili bomba linaweza kuchafua maji ambayo binadamu na viumbe wote tunayategemea so athari zake ni kubwa sana kwa maisha ya binadamu na viumbe hai.

Mfano sasa hivi Tanga wamezuiwa kufanya uvuvi kwenye eneo la bahari ambako bomba linapita.

Kibaya zaidi licha kwamba Tanzania tumetoa 80% ya ardhi yetu lakin Total energies wamekataa kutuhakikishia kwamba watatupa bima ya mazingira just incase ikitokea hilo bomba likaleta Changamoto maana historia inaonyesha kwamba haya mabomba huwa yanapasuka na kuna mifano hai ya nchi ambazo waliwahi kuwa na miradi kama huu na wakapata changamoto baada ya bomba kupasuka mfano nchini Nigeria eneo la Niger Delta ambapo kupasuka kwa Bomba kuliathiri shughuli zote za Kilimo, mazao yalikuwa hayaoti, Samaki walikuwa wanakufa so ili athiri shughuli uvuvi kwa watu ambao walikuwa wanategemea kuendesha maisha yao kupitia uvuvi na kubwa kuliko yote kulisababisha wakazi wa maeneo husika kupata matatizo ya kiafya ambayo yalisababishwa na mafuta yaliyokuwa yamesambaa baada ya bomba kupasuka

Ukiachan na hayo hata hiyo 15% ambayo wanasema tutapewa na Total hiyo itakuwa ni baada ya wao kukokotoa gharama walizotumia then ile faida watakayosema wamepata ndo tutapewa 15%

Kumbuka kiwanda cha kusafisha hayo mafuta ghafi hakipo Uganda wala Tanzania kipo Ulaya na ukiangalia hata kwenye madini yetu tumeibiwa sana kwa style hii hii.

Halafu hata yakitokea majanga yatokanayo na hilo bomba tutatakiwa kutumia hiyo 15% tutakayopewa na Total kupambana na hayo majanga kama ambavyo waliteseka Nigeria baada ya hayo mabomba kupasuka.

Kinachoniuma mimi Tanzania inatoa 80% ardhi na inapata 15% ya mradi ambayo itakuwa ni baada ya faida kupatikana halafu Total wao wakewekeza mabomba na kuchukua mafuta ghafi, haijengi kiwanda yani hii ni extractive capitalism maana wanachukua malighafi ya Uganda, wanatumia ardhi ya Uganda na Tanzania kusafirisha mafuta na kazi zote za kuchakata na kuuza watafanyia Ulaya.

So ajira zote zinakwenda Ulaya na mafuta yanakwenda Ulaya na sie tunabaki na vimeo na hiyo oil reserve ya Uganda ikiisha wanatuachia ardhi imeharibika na kuchafuliwa kama walivofanya huko Niger Delta.

MERCY NASHIPAI LEGILISHO was born in 7th april 1998 in Loitoktok, Kajiado county as a second born and the only girl in a family of 3. I wasn't lucky enough to be born in a wealthy family but was blessed to be raised by both parents. Even though I didn't go to the best of schools I'm grateful my parents managed to take me through my primary and highschool education. May 2017 my dad brought me to a college in Nairobi to pursue Nutrition and Diabetics only to be told 2 years later that the institution was not accredited to offer most of the courses we were taking. My hope for a better future was crushed! This time round there were no more cows to sell to pay my fees . my cousin jaky hosted me at her place and 2 weeks later I got a job at a wines and spirits shop ! A job I thought was only done by uncultured girls ,was devastated! I got admission in another college but made a request to be allowed to be paying mdogo mdogo since this time I was paying my fee ! Did psychology,sat for the Knec exams and performed excellent. One afternoon as I was coming from school our matatu was involved in a car accident at pangani ,woke up in the hospital severely hurt and confused! Fast forward , I was compensated 80,000 bob which I bought the fast sand and cement for my mums house ! My zeal towards fight against FGM and early marriages led me into founding @MercyMissionKE which has been in the Frontline towards this cause! I started taking care of my family at the age of 18 , for this I've had to do many businesses to make sure that incase one fails I have a back up ! This is how I ended up into farming , selling shoes and clothes . Getting back to school this may because I'm definitely stopping at PHD . When you see me different just understand that the world was never kind enough to me , I've always fought alone, I've never had anyone picking me up or holding my hand when I fall , I've been ridiculed, people thinking it's easy because I'm a woman ! My only back up has been God !
TODAY :....
I'm the first girl to build for her parents in my village.
I've single handedly took myself through my college education,no bursaries no sponsors .
Today my foundation is sponsoring highschool students and has saved more than 1300 girls from FGM and early marriages.
Today I got my cows and my people got enough milk and food from my farms .
Looking back I'm grateful, however the future scares the hell out of me ! Sometimes I feel like quitting but when I think of all those who depend on me I dust off myself and keep going! It's never rosy on my side ! I just don't look like the problems I have been through!
