President Trump announced Thursday that any future damage to ships or cargo will be paid for with Iranian money under U.S. control.

In a Truth Social post, the president wrote that "any and all damages done to Ships, Cargo, or anything related thereto, will be paid for by Iranian Money that the United States has in its possession, and controls," adding that it was "the fair and equitable thing to do."
