The whole saga between Ibadan content creators and Goldberg is actually funny to me 😹

I’ve seen some of the “influencers” complaining on TikTok and, honestly, some of you don’t understand your own worth or the business side of influencing.

Because it’s Goldberg, you want to “feel among” next thing, you wear clothes and rush to the event. Then you get treated like people who don’t understand their value, and now everyone is complaining online?

My question is: did nobody negotiate before going?

Influencing is a business. Your audience, reach, engagement, creativity, time and presence all have value. A brand inviting you to an event doesn’t automatically mean you should accept whatever terms they give you.

And I honestly doubt some of you even have a proper community where you discuss these things with each other.
It is NOT compulsory to attend every event.

Sometimes, the biggest flex is knowing when to say “this doesn’t work for me.”
Ibadan content creators, please know your worth. 😭

Don’t just want to “feel among.” Build enough value to be treated accordingly.

That mindset quietly destroys businesses.
Your business is your source of income, not a charity. If you truly support someone, pay for their product or service. That's how you help them grow, not by expecting freebies.

Too many small businesses fold because they're pressured to give away what pays their bills.

Support your people. Don't bankrupt them.
