This trend continues as the crust becomes wider until eventually the 12-inch pizzas, despite being all crust, can't compete.

@TamasGorbe @fermatslibrary More accurately the crust is an annulus or ring shape. So two 12 inch pizzas, if we assume a 1-inch width crust have 144.513 square inches of crust. One 18 inch pizza has 109.956 square inches of crust. So two 12 inch pizzas, in this case, have approximately 31.43% more crust.
