I had all four wheels loose traction on downhill as I lifted off the accelerator to maintain safe distance with traffic. Maybe 30-40 mph.

@DrKnowItAll16 Not good in icy stuff. Interferes with antilock breaking. If you don't have very precise pedal control you may lose control of the vehicle. Love the one pedal driving when not super slippery.

@renewiel @Tesla @teslaeurope I miss the old dumb cruise control sometimes. Sure you could drive it straight into a brick wall, but it would never stop you in the middle of the highway for a semi truck to run you over. Overriding autopilot shuts it off. You'll want to step on the accelerator.

#modely Anyone else have loss of control due to brake regen in wintery mix (slush/snow)? Was Feb 2025 in Vermont, 2024 model y, Michelin Ice-X SUV tires on 18" wheels.

@MarkParshall I had complete understeer making a left turn apprx 10 mph as I let off the accelerator. Later that day, all four wheels let loose while descending a grade at 30-40 mph as I lifted off the accelerator to maintain safe distance. Slushy/icy w/snow tires. Regen kills traction control

@Tesla I love Regen except when snowy/icy. Lost traction multiple times on one snowy day in Vermont (2/16/25). Had Michelin Ice-X tires and experience driving in snow and ice. Had under steer and complete loss of traction. Very scary. Bring back low-regen option for winter weather.
