@casey1167@pjgurry Just to state what may not be obvious to all, moving away from the NASB as an English translation is not equivalent to moving away from “what the original text says.” All translations are … translations.
@JoshuaBarzon I feel like a lot of the criticism now is attached to things that came later. But as for the book itself, it’s very helpful to waken Christians up from their stupor toward the centrality of missions to the Christian life. But I also like to temper it with books like Ordinary.
Stop judging by outward appearances, and start judging justly. - John 7:24 BSB
…rather judge according to righteous judgment. - John 7:24, CSB
…but judge with right judgment. - John 7:24, ESV
What do we think?

@JoshuaBarzon Thank you for sharing this very thoughtful, well-researched post!
I heard on Tim Frisch’s channel that you primarily use the CSB, which seems to fall very close to the NIV on the spectrum of translation sound and feel. What makes the CSB your go-to over the NIV?
@JoshuaBarzon@PaulsLeatherCO@RockWallBibles@Lifeway@evbible Let me clarify: Schuyler is only at the bottom because they keep changing their logo lockup. It’s almost never consistently portrayed. Plus the Jerusalem cross pre-exists them so it’s not very original. But the result is pretty for what is in this post.
