Mamdani’s election as NYC Mayor is looking likely. If he is elected, the only way to restore sanity to the city would be a recall petition which would surely unite the now fractured electorate.

Trump should allow any citizen who is protesting deporting “migrants” a chance to legally adopt one. But under the condition that they be subject to the same laws that a parent is subject regarding the care of a dependent, regardless of age.

To Legalize or not to Legalize? – is it possible that the “immigrants” now filling low paying jobs in the Hospitality, Agriculture, and Food Processing Industries are doing so because they are in fact illegal aliens. And if granted legal status, and no longer need to hide in the shadows, will they opt out of these low paying jobs? If that happens, where are these industries going to get their replacements?

vis-a-vis the federal judge’s temporary blockage of Trump’s executive order canceling collective bargaining rights for most federal workers. Trump’s effort actually echos FDR’s belief in limiting the power of public unions. While unquestionably our most liberal president, he once wrote “government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service.” SCOTUS may have to decide what I see as an intriguing legal issue; since federal workers are working for all the people, shouldn’t they have to negotiate with Congress?
