I've been in M&A for a long time, and this is my single biggest takeaway - there is no better predictor of future performance than past results. Acquiring an SMB with highly variable historical performance AND with high leverage is very very risky. Buyer beware!

@niconley Simple solution is to just order a cheese dip. This way you consume some of those chips with the cheese and thus it becomes part of your meal. Greatly reduces the pre-meal calories!

@seandsweeney Just over 50 and very similar. Youngest just left for college and we just moved to a sleepy community on the coast. I’m a ways away from retirement, but now we spend way more time enjoying life. Yesterday worked all day and then we spent 2 hours at the beach.
