Since last night, first responders and all necessary services have been working wherever needed. As of now, at least 83 people have been confirmed injured since midnight. Tragically, there are fatalities. My condolences to the families and loved ones.
It was a heavy attack – 90 missiles of various types, many of them ballistic missiles – 36 in total. There were 600 drones. Unfortunately, not all of the ballistic missiles were intercepted – the largest number of hits was in Kyiv. Kyiv was the primary target of this Russian attack.
Putin can’t even pronounce the word “hurrah” clearly anymore – slurs and mumbles – yet he is still vanquishing residential buildings with his missiles. Launched three Russian missiles against a water supply facility. Burned down a market. Damaged dozens of residential buildings. Hit several ordinary schools. Launched his “Oreshnik” against Bila Tserkva. They really are unhinged.
It is important that this does not pass without consequences for Russia. Today, everyone in the world who will not stay silent and chooses to help Ukraine is a defender of life. It is critically important to continue working to secure air defense for Ukraine, especially anti-ballistic capabilities.
We are doing our best to achieve peace and protect people – everything. It is important that Ukraine is not alone. Decisions are needed – from the United States, from Europe and others – to make that old “Oreshnik” in Moscow finally utter the word “peace.”
Being a European today basically means having a pretty excellent day until around 5 pm when the White House starts posting the dumbest shit you've ever had the misfortune to read.
Every. Damn. Day.
Xi used to watch Western response to Russian invasion to see what he can do with Taiwan.
Now he watches Russian response to a Ukrainian invasion to see what he can do with Russia.
@academic_la Well, this scandal was generated and inflated by the Russians, because this thing started from the president of International Boxing Association, Umar Kremlev, an acquaintance of Putin.

Is the whole story about Imane Khelif being a man the result of a Russian misinformation campaign?
Last year, Khelif beat a previously undefeated Russian boxer.
All the information that Khelif is transgender or a man comes from the International Boxing Association (IBA). It is run by Umar Kremlev, an acquaintance of Putin.
The IBA has been permanently banned from the Olympics for financial mismanagement and lack of transparency.
After Khelif beat the Russian boxer, she was disqualified and the Russian prospect went back to being undefeated.
Kremlev, who has a personal gripe with the Olympics because of the ban, is now going around claiming Khelif and another Taiwanese boxer are not actually women, supposedly based on tests. According to the AP, "the IBA has refused to officially say what, when or where these tests were administered, who evaluated them, or what the results meant." He's also calling the Olympics "pure devilry" and urging the current head of the International Olympic Committee to resign.
I jumped to conclusions on this, and clearly we need more information. There is no reason to take the IBA's word on anything, and we should be vigilant against foreign actors spreading misinformation in order to create division.
I cannot stress this enough.
The Russians besieged, bombarded & starved Aleppo, and all the international community did was plead with Russia via the UNSC to allow an aid convoy in. One aid convoy.
Russia agreed. Then they bombed the UN aid convoy.

@Der_Parrot The vote counting is not over yet, so it's still not clear if her party it's going to enter in the European Parliament. SOS is barely above the threshold and it's expected to fall even more. So her place as an MEP is not for granted.
It’s really disturbing to see so many people on the left agree with Trump that America should withdraw from the world and become isolationist.
It’s so shortsighted. Not only would it clearly lead to World War III, not only would it lead to authoritarianism winning worldwide, but it would absolutely fucking destroy the American economy.
Can you not see that leaving worldwide leadership to China and India would hurt America in the long run?
Just to pick a really simple example, consider wireless communication protocol. We had a huge battle a few years ago over which standard products would use, because China wanted to engineer a backdoor that they and other dictators around the world could use to spy on their citizens. Because America led the technology, the shipping and the partnerships, we won that battle. The world is better for it.
Isolationist doesn’t mean more money for healthcare, schools and infrastructure in the long run. It means less. And it means our economy would be on its knees servicing India and China.
For all the criticism of the boomers, they understand that America is strongest when we work with others. It’s a shame that Afghanistan and Iraq made two generations of Americans so cynical to believe we are incapable of leadership.
Just to be clear: the anti-foreign aid talking point isn't about fiscal conservatism, it's about opening the vacuum for Russia and China to take over the world.
