HR pulled aside a younger employee and told him leaving right at 5 every day made him seem “less dedicated” than the rest of the team.
So the next day, he stayed late.
Worked quietly until 6, packed up his stuff, then stopped by HR before leaving and asked how to submit his overtime hours.
HR told him the extra time wouldn’t be paid.
He nodded, said “got it,” and the very next day went back to clocking out at exactly 5pm.
