This is not a difficult decision. Raising taxes is the default, easy decision. The difficult decision would be reducing spending.

If reports are accurate, a new 1.8% levy on earnings above £6,240 for workers over 34 isn’t “new funding”.

It’s income tax with a different label.

Britain doesn’t have a revenue problem. It has a spending problem.

Every time government runs out of other people’s money, the answer is the same:

Tax more.
Spend more.
Promise more.

The result? Less incentive to work, invest and build.

More people dependent on the state.
Slower growth.

Lower productivity.

You don’t create prosperity by making work more expensive.

You create it by letting people keep more of what they earn.

Changing the name doesn’t change the reality.

Even I am very hesitant on employing anyone in my new company due to taxes. I am adopting Ai at a deep level instead. Of course I will be employing some people, but not as many as I would be otherwise, in fact about 10% of what I would be.

FFS you clown: the UK is exposed to higher gas prices BECAUSE it has made itself dependent on wind and solar. Our neighbours like Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark likewise.

So we are forced to buy gas when it is the most expensive because our neighbours are doing the same.

You geniuses put us into this position.
