We really didn’t appreciate how good we had it. Obama wasn’t above criticism and the media definitely wasn’t always nice to him. They questioned him, challenged him, criticized his policies and wrote stories he didn’t like. But he understood that came with the job.

He stood there answered tough questions and understood that the press wasn’t supposed to kiss his ass…they were supposed to hold the most powerful person in the country accountable. He could disagree without treating every journalist who challenged him like an enemy.

You don’t have to agree with everything Obama did to recognize the difference in how he carried himself. There was a level of composure, respect and understanding of the responsibility that came with the office.

We really took normal presidential behavior for granted. 😩
