The pitch that works for 300k Labour members and the pitch that works for the whole country are not one and the same. Massive structural issue in how both parties select prime ministers when they’re in government. Nothing to be done about it, but it will be damaging.
In tomorrow's Times: Labour had to scratch its Burnham itch. Makerfield will be a trial run of Burnham v Farage. If he wins, Starmer should step aside & the PLP should avoid the self-indulgence of a leadership contest. If he loses, things are even worse for Lab than we thought.
Great to have @CityStGeorges profile our call for more relational ways of working between care providers and the wider health & social care system.

On this day 40 years ago, I shared my very first album with the world. It’s been an incredible journey, and I am deeply grateful for all your support along the way. It feels surreal to be sharing my 10th studio album with you tonight, 40 years later. You can listen back to my self-titled where it all started and save Flying with Angels to have it land where you listen at midnight♥️🪽

Thanks for positive feedback on the Older People's Housing Taskforce report. I acknowledge & thank Secretariat (MHCLG/DHSC), 19 Taskforce Members, & other Contributors (call for evidence, 36 site visits, 2 research studies, 5 surveys, 100 experts, 36 site visits, 15 roundtables)
The extra £600m for #socialcare is of course welcome, but a drop in the ocean and certainly not enough to start tackling the crisis.
And very little compared to the £22bn extra for the NHS.
An opportunity for bold reform missed.
No saving the NHS without saving social care...
Time flies! 10 years almost to the day @jrf_uk published The Care Home Inquiry. Caused a bit of a stir at the time #socialcare. Time has flown but has anything changed?
