I translated it for my 2013 book, Crucified Again: Exposing Islam's New War on Christians.

It follows. In order to receive dhimma (protection from the sword of Islam), conquered Christians had to agree:

"Not to build a church in our city—nor a monastery, convent, or monk’s cell in the surrounding areas—and not to repair those that fall in ruins or are in Muslim quarters; Not to clang our cymbals except lightly and from the innermost recesses of our churches; Not to display a cross on them [churches], nor raise our voices during prayer or readings in our churches anywhere near Muslims; Not to produce a cross or [Christian] book in the markets of the Muslims; Not to congregate in the open for Easter or Palm Sunday, nor lift our voices [in lamentation] for our dead nor show our firelights with them near the market places of the Muslims; Not to display any signs of polytheism, nor make our religion appealing, nor call or proselytize anyone to it; Not to prevent any of our relatives who wish to enter into Islam; Not to possess or bear any arms whatsoever, nor gird ourselves with swords; To honor the Muslims, show them the way, and rise up from our seats if they wish to sit down; We guarantee all this to you upon ourselves, our descendants, our spouses, and our neighbors, and if we change or contradict these conditions imposed upon ourselves in order to receive safety, we forfeit our dhimma [covenant], and we become liable to the same treatment you inflict upon the people who resist and cause sedition."

World primary crop production has soared by 54% since 2000 — mostly powered by extra CO₂.

That represents 9.5 billion tonnes of farm produce feeding the planet, up from approximately 6.1 billion tonnes at the turn of the century.

Captured by NASA satellites and vetted by the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization, this explosion of life is driven by increased crop yields, not expanded clearing. Wheat production alone has grown 36% (from 585m to 798m tonnes) with minimal land expansion.

The higher CO₂ is a global fertiliser. It allows plant stomata to breathe more efficiently — conserving water while accelerating carbon absorption.

Empirical reality:

* The Sahel: 8% of the arid desert has transitioned to new plant growth.
* The Arctic: A 38% increase in green vegetation mass since 1985.
* Global greening: 5.5 million CO₂ of new growth — twice the size of the Amazon.
* Australian Agriculture: The recent 2025–2026 season hit its third-highest wheat production on record, with yields 10% above the 5-year average.

The biosphere isn't collapsing — its bursting at the seams.

New research claims human emissions are not driving atmospheric CO2.

A paper by Dai Ato ran multiple linear regressions for 1959 to 2022, testing two predictors of the annual CO2 increase: sea surface temperature and human emissions.

The result was clear: when the oceans warmed, CO2 levels rose almost exactly in step - about two to three parts per million for every one degree Celsius of warming.

Adding human emissions to the model didn't change the outcome.

Using only ocean temperature, the model reproduced global CO2 levels with near-perfect accuracy - a correlation of 0.995 and an error of just one to two ppm by 2022.

The main factor governing the annual increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration is sea surface temperature rather than human emissions.

Earlier studies have shown the same pattern. Temperature changes first, CO2 follows.

If Ato is correct, cutting human emissions won't lower atmospheric CO2 because it's the oceans that set the pace.

Below this surface lies Earth’s true thermal vault. Earth is a water planet, and the oceans cover 71% of the surface to an average depth of 2.3 miles. Global ocean currents carry warm waters from the deep tropics to the northern hemisphere, before returning after a round trip of 1,000 years.

Without these currents, northern Europe would be a glacial wilderness, just like Greenland.

The scale is colossal. Warm waters from the Roman warm period (240 BC to 400 AD) are still returning to the mid-latitudes. The atmosphere, by comparison, is a gaseous envelope that retains almost no thermal energy, holds a tiny fraction of the planet's carbon, and is largely controlled by ocean dynamics.

The deep Pacific itself is so massive that only now it is receiving the cold waters from the Little Ice Age. We aren't starting from scratch; we are mid-cycle in a 4.6-billion-year-old time machine.

We’ve also reinvented 'climate'. Once, it was a word for the local weather of robins and sparrows. Now it's a global ideological abstraction. We’ve lost our admiration for the natural world. We count CO₂ in parts per million while ignoring the satellite-proven greening of the Sahel.

It’s time to move past the light breezes and offshore winds and look into the ocean depths for answers. Ask yourself, is the 1.4°C warming since 1850 really an unprecedented crisis?

The Earth is greening at a rate never seen before in all recorded history.

Global crop yields have risen 15–20% since 1960, almost entirely attributable to CO₂ fertilisation (Idso, 2013; IPCC AR6 WG1 Ch5). Famine deaths have fallen over a time when the world's population doubled — and CO₂ deserves much of the credit. We have CO₂ to thank for this explosion in plant life and agriculture.

NASA satellite studies reveal a more than 18% increase in global leaf area in 40 years; the largest gains in India and China (from CO₂ fertilisation). Warmer temperatures are lengthening the growing seasons. This is a feature of rising levels of water vapour and cloud cover around the world.

Every 100 ppm increase in CO₂ typically boosts plant growth by 25–50% in all non-water-limited conditions. My analysis draws on 776 studies from 1993–2019, showing an ideal average CO₂ level of 550 ppm delivers a 38% increase in global biomass.

It's an astonishing windfall for life on earth, chiefly from CO₂, a trace gas at 420 ppm (or 0.04%). It also has a secondary benefit for life by contributing to baseline levels of warmth around the planet, along with water vapour and other trace gases with similar properties, like methane (1,920-1,930 parts per billion).

Higher CO₂ gives a net benefit to life on Earth.
