Yehor Oliynyk is a 20-year-old Ukrainian warrior. He signed the contract and started service before the full scale invasion – as soon as he came of age. He says he always knew that he would defend the Motherland.

Yehor recalls: he was not so much afraid of dying as of being captured. Therefore, when he was blown up by a mine in September and lost his leg, at first he did not want to apply a tourniquet to stop the bleeding. But the thought of parents forced him to fight for his life.

In December 2022, Yehorov was fitted with a prosthesis at the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center. Immediately after that, he returned to the combat zone in Vuhledar. He says: "I go on assaults, I fight, I dig – like everyone else. I am upgraded: my leg does not freeze, does not get wet."
