@PeteMcTighe I love The Happiness Patrol, but its limitations are sadly obvious onscreen. So the prospect of a SE is very exciting! I suspect it’s one of the few classic stories that benefits from having its cut scenes reinstated.

Reading this back, I sound a bit narky. Not my intention. I’m genuinely looking for works which use the anti-climax well.

I loved lots about Empire of Death, but the mystery of Ruby’s Mum must surely also be #DoctorWho’s biggest anti-climax. I’m trying to think of other works of fiction which use that narrative technique and whether it’s ever actually worked.
