@ChimeWhistle I'm fully on board with name and livery, but if the loco came up for sale and I had the funds I'd be seriously tempted to buy + return to her previous name and livery.

(Only because my steam fix when I was younger came from this loco and another Polish TkH 0-6-0T now in Belgium)

Been a while since I've posted model railway stuff here, slowly doing this as a paid commission - 3mm Scale L&Y Pug for the Hornby TT B4 chassis. Might need to do an etch for the wheels but it's quite accurate to wheel size and wheel diameter #TMRGUK

@goodbyeleninxcx I’ve never understood mainly Yanks who claim they’re 97% this or that on their great grandpappys side. You’re American with some heritage down the way, be proud of that but it doesn’t make you anything but American.

@goodbyeleninxcx I’m English born with a lot of Scottish family (Dad is Scots and mum is English but both have mixed English/Scots background) but I’m always either English or British, never Scottish. I support a club in Scotland, speak Ayrshire slang + enjoy Scots culture but I’m still English.

@ChimeWhistle @mark395625 @kelvin5385 @Charing_Steve Even had a fleet member robbed of all decent parts only for it then to be sold for export and then fitted with all new parts making it very capable again. Couldn't make it up as surely foresight and planning would have prevented such decisions.

@ChimeWhistle @mark395625 @kelvin5385 @Charing_Steve Did experience this many times and the older boys would talk about how good it all was under BR, especially how you could get parts from other depots if needed.

Was never fun to look at a job, realise you don't have the parts and they're a few weeks to get from suppliers.

@nathan13254 @KensingtonRoyal So the trade that is carried out each year between the UK and NZ doesn’t account for anything? Also a commonwealth country? Don’t forget the service given by their Armed Forces alongside the British both past and present.

@Gumdrop844 @shankysanghi @chelseaaabee_ Was renting a three bedroom house whilst in my apprenticeship, granted two of us so could afford it but I know of one guy who scrimped/saved whilst doing his to afford a decent deposit for a mortgage when he completed his.

@shankysanghi @Dry_Come @chelseaaabee_ In my apprenticeship (electrical/mechanical engineering) we did get rises each year leading to a set percentage of skilled wage each time, can’t speak for all companies but I feel I my area that was the normal. Plus money could be made from doing overtime, which helped at times.

@hornby Favourite model is one I’ve yet to get right, a rather niche Plasser & Theurer 08-12. Measured and based around 73913, I’ve done a few test prints and not been happy, going back to revise the CAD artwork.
