Lots of good advice here. Should be a mandatory part of any sales training program!

Used to tell the sales team that there should be no such thing as a cold call because you should have researched the prospect and tried to create a hook to catch their attention in your opening line, which makes it a 'warm' call. Still the same thing but psychologically different.

Also suggested that to deal with being worn down by the inevitable rejections they should schedule calls cold-cold-cold-hot with hot being a current customer.

Some are just born cold call beasts. Impressive to watch in action but most just can't do it.

The only advice I can give is to not start drinking early in, or even in the middle of, the day. I did and it led to properly dark places.
