The critical exchange occurred on 10 June 2021, when Malema specifically asked Sayed to send an Operation Dudula poster together with the direct message "Must be arrested tonight."

Sayed carried out the alleged instruction by relaying the poster and related messages to General Khan. The Operation Dudula post stated: "OPERATION DUDULA SOUTH AFRICA FOR SOUTH AFRICANS WE WILL BE REMOVING ALL ILLEGAL FOREIGN NATIONALS BY FORCE!!! MEETING POINT DIEPKLOOF HALL, 16 JUNE @ 8AM SIDUDULA INSIDE SHOPS & HAWKERS IF YOU ARE OPERATING ILLEGALLY YOU BETTER PACH AND LEAVE BEFORE THE JUNE 16." This reflected the movement's plans to act against illegal foreign nationals.

The communications show Malema's efforts to allegedly protect illegal immigrants targeted by Operation Dudula. By routing the poster and arrest demand through Sayed to General Khan, it appears that Malema sought swift police action to stop the group's planned forceful removals from shops and communities ahead of the 16 June gathering.

Advocate Chaskalson continues to unpack these messages as part of the evidence review. The exchanges demonstrate Malema's use of high-level contacts to counter the anti-illegal immigration campaign. The messages reveal a willingness to call on high-level police contacts for swift action aligned with protecting illegal immigrants from grassroots pushback.
