I made this reservation months ago and planned my trip around it. The cancellation was not due to any action on my part but because the hotel is apparently not ready to open. As a result, I must find alternative accommodations on short notice, likely at a higher cost.
I contacted IHG immediately and was told a senior supervisor would reach out. More than 36 hours later, I have received no follow-up.
As a loyal IHG customer, I expected better support. I request assistance securing comparable accommodations and compensation for any additional costs caused by this cancellation.
This situation raises a basic concern: what value does an advance reservation have if a hotel can cancel it days before arrival without a timely response from the brand?
I hope IHG will resolve this matter promptly and demonstrate the service and accountability loyal guests expect.
