I thank Colombia and my good friend, Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella @ABDELAESPRIELLA, for his historic decision to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, following our meeting in Barranquilla, Colombia, last Thursday.

With this, one of his first decisions in office, the President of Colombia has demonstrated his leadership, his values, and his commitment to Israel and to Israel’s security.

I thank my colleague and friend, Foreign Minister @omarbula, for his friendship, cooperation, and professionalism.

Israel is a small country with no strategic depth. Defensible borders are essential to ensuring the continued existence of the Jewish people in our historic homeland.

I will continue working so that more countries join the United States, under President Trump, and Colombia, under President de la Espriella, in recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, where Israeli law was applied 45 years ago.

🇨🇴 Colombia’s army just captured a FARC dissident commander known as “Menor” as armed groups intensify attacks across the country.

The 29th Brigade detained the mid-level leader of the Dagoberto Ramos structure during a raid earlier this month.

At the same time, one of the largest rebel organizations claimed a vehicle-mounted assault on police compounds in a border city that wounded more than ten officers and destroyed dormitories, vehicles and nearby businesses.

Security forces have responded by flooding the same region with extra troops, armor and checkpoints.

A separate operation farther south netted five members of another criminal network along with weapons and vehicles.

A fresh strike on a rural police station overnight shows the violence is still spreading.

A guy nicknamed "The Russian" operating in the Colombian jungle. No further questions.

FARC dissidents have continued terrorizing rural Colombia despite the 2016 peace deal, and the military has been systematically dismantling their leadership.

One less commander calling shots in the jungle.

Terrible news about the earthquake in western Colombia, which also affected neighboring Ecuador. As of now, at least 25 people have been reported dead, and there are people trapped under the rubble.
