NEW: CEA's Ohio Biblical Business Index is out.
Strong on life & religious liberty. Weak on economic cronyism — tax carveouts for data centers, stadium owners & solar subsidies that hit families.
72 of 132 lawmakers earned our Defender of Biblical Business Award.

I've earned a 98% Christian Employers Alliance Score for 2025, ranking #1 in the U.S. Senate, consistently championing constitutional liberties, free enterprise, and religious freedom.
Thank you, @JoinCEANow!
Millions of pastors, teachers, church staff, and nonprofit employees are stuck in outdated 403(b) retirement plans — blocked from investment tools available in most 401(k)s.
That means lower returns and fewer retirement savings for the people serving our communities.
At CEA, we call this an Economic Freedom issue.
Government shouldn’t force faith-based and nonprofit employers into second-class retirement systems.
The @SECGov and @WhiteHouse can fix this NOW by allowing 403(b) access to Collective Investment Trusts (CITs).
Equal freedom. Equal access. Better retirement security.
SHOCKING: 14.5 million Americans – pastors, teachers, church staff, and nonprofit warriors — are being DENIED access to the best retirement investments available.
They’re missing out on BIG $$$ in retirement savings.
But the Trump Administration’s @SECGov could fix this TODAY!
Here’s the scam: 403(b) plans are blocked from using Collective Investment Trusts (CITs) — the high-ROI, low-cost investment vehicles that have taken over 401(k)s.
CITs now make up 42% of all assets in 401(k) plans.

🔽 Biggest drops: Alabama (-10), Louisiana (-6), Iowa (-4), Florida (-4), Connecticut (-4)

The Biblical Business Index is going national.
For too long, Christian employers have operated without a clear, data-driven view of how lawmakers actually vote on the policies shaping their businesses, their workforces, and their freedom to operate by faith.
That ends now.
In a single quarter, CEA expanded the BBI to 12 states — analyzing hundreds of thousands of legislative votes and identifying the lawmakers who consistently stand for biblical business principles. This month, we extend that same accountability to the federal level.
Every member of Congress. Every vote.
This is what it looks like to stand watch on behalf of Christian business — and to make sure no policy shaping the future of the sacred marketplace goes unseen.
Stay tuned for the official release.

For most Christian-owned businesses, a single federal lawsuit over religious workplace practices can cost more than $1 million. That's not a setback — for many, it's a shutdown.
For CEA members, that risk has already been neutralized.
Through a binding agreement with the EEOC, abortion and gender identity mandates cannot be enforced against current CEA members. This isn't a future promise. It's a present, court-recognized protection — secured through landmark litigation and extended to every member the moment they join.
These protections are not universal. They apply only to current members of CEA.
Protection is strongest when it happens before policy becomes mandate.

A heartfelt thank you to the U.S. Christian Chamber of Commerce for inviting CEA to your annual SWC Conference last week.
It was a privilege to spend time with so many faith-driven business owners — leaders who are running their companies with conviction in a regulatory climate that increasingly pushes back. The questions were sharp, the conversations were real, and the encouragement went both ways.
From federal mandates and injunction protections to the day-to-day work of stewarding a Christian enterprise, today's employer needs both clarity and a coalition. That's exactly what gatherings like SWC make possible.
Grateful to USCCC for building a community where faith and commerce belong together — and for the partnership that ensures Christian employers no longer stand alone.
Q1 2026 is in the books — and what a quarter.
✦ A binding agreement secured with the EEOC, protecting CEA members from abortion and gender identity mandates;
✦ 12 states launched on the Biblical Business Index;
✦ 500 million+ people reached with the message of biblical business;
✦ 150+ national media mentions.
But the headline that matters most is this: Christian employers are no longer standing alone.
To every member, every donor, every partner who stood with us this quarter — thank you. We're just getting started.
Strong Families are Good Economics: The Case for a Pro-Growth Tax Agenda
In the latest op-ed by CEA President Margaret Iuculano with the Independent Journal Review (IJR), she explores why the flourishing of the American family is not just a social priority—it is the foundation of a resilient and competitive marketplace.
For too long, policymakers have treated family and business interests as competing priorities. The truth is exactly the opposite: strong families form the bedrock of a stable labor force and thriving communities.
Key Pillars of a Family-First Tax Agenda:
Expanded Child Tax Credit (CTC): We are calling for an increase of the CTC to $5,000 per child to help parents raise the next generation while rewarding their contributions to the economy.
Rewarding Work from the First Dollar: Current law excludes the first $2,500 of earned income from qualifying for the credit; we must eliminate this barrier to ensure the CTC rewards work from the very first dollar earned.
Flexibility for Every Household: Our tax code should recognize that every family’s needs are different by allowing the Child and Dependent Care Credit (CDCTC) to support parents regardless of whether they choose dual incomes or sacrifice one to stay home.
Incentivizing Paid Leave: We remain strong supporters of the 45S tax credit, which rewards businesses that provide the paid family leave necessary for workers to care for their loved ones.
As we continue to grow our impact, we move as a unified force to replace political rhetoric with a true Record of Conviction. We look forward to working with leaders who recognize that a pro-growth agenda begins with protecting the dignity of the family.

A major shift in financial regulation is on the horizon and the Christian Employers Alliance has been at the forefront of this effort.
Federal regulators are now proposing to remove “reputation risk” as a factor in banking supervision a key driver behind debanking and viewpoint-based financial discrimination.
This is a significant step toward:
✔️ Protecting faith-based and values-driven organizations
✔️ Ensuring equal access to financial services
✔️ Refocusing oversight on objective financial risk not subjective ideology
CEA has been actively engaged in advancing policies like this to defend the rights of employers to operate according to their deeply held beliefs.

The Montana Biblical Business Index: Uncovering Deceptive Lawmaker Practices 🏔️⚖️
The Christian Employers Alliance (CEA) has officially released the Montana Edition of the Biblical Business Index (BBI), and the findings highlight a critical need for transparency and accountability in the Treasure State.
As we transition from being passive observers to the architects of a principled economy, these results offer a tangible harvest of clarity for faith-based business leaders.
Key Highlights from the Montana BBI:
A Call for Accountability: Our analysis revealed that only one-third (51 of 150 members) of the Montana Legislature voted in alignment (80% or more) with biblically based positions.
Identifying the Disconnect: The BBI cuts through partisan rhetoric to show exactly where lawmakers stand on the issues that impact our Five Core Freedoms: Religious, Workforce, Economic, Operational, and Health Care Freedoms.
Deceptive Practices: The analysis uncovered a startling disconnect between public stances and actual voting records, empowering you to identify which representatives truly champion faith and freedom.
We believe that holding our leaders to the highest standard of stewardship is essential for the flourishing of our families, businesses, and communities. Use this tool to move beyond campaign promises and demand a true Record of Conviction from those who represent you.

Colorado: A Turning Point for Faith & Freedom 🏔️⚖️
We are thrilled to announce the release of the Colorado Edition of the Biblical Business Index (BBI), providing a vital roadmap for faith-based leaders navigating the Centennial State’s legislative landscape. This launch comes at a providential moment, following a historic victory for religious liberty in the highest court in the land.
A Landmark Victory for the First Amendment
This week, the U.S. Supreme Court delivered a monumental 8-1 ruling in Chiles v. Salazar, striking down a restrictive Colorado law that sought to censor faith-based counseling. This decision is a definitive win against viewpoint censorship, affirming that the government cannot force professionals—or employers—to abandon their core convictions to promote state-approved ideologies.
Measuring Stewardship: The Colorado BBI Results
As we celebrate this win for Operational Freedom, it is unfortunate to see the legislative downward turn in Colorado this past year, with lawmakers embracing a policy direction increasingly at odds with biblical values and limited-government principles.
National Standing: Colorado currently ranks 29th nationally on our index of biblical stewardship.
A Beacon of Conviction: We applaud Rep. Stephanie Luck, who serves as the only legislator in Colorado to achieve a perfect 100% score for her unwavering commitment to scriptural principles in the marketplace.
Identifying the Disconnect: The data reveals a significant gap between campaign rhetoric and actual voting records, empowering you to identify the true champions of your "Five Freedoms".
We are moving from passive observation to becoming the architects of a principled economy. Join us as we use this "Record of Conviction" to ensure that the harvest of our advocacy continues to grow across Colorado.

Religious freedom isn’t just a constitutional principle it’s essential to the ability of faith-driven organizations to serve, hire, and operate with integrity.
New legislation introduced by Rep. Blake Moore would protect the tax-exempt status of religious organizations, ensuring they are not penalized for operating according to their beliefs even when those beliefs differ from shifting public policy standards.
This is a critical step toward preventing the federal government from using tax policy or funding eligibility to pressure faith-based employers to compromise their convictions.
At CEA, we support policies that protect Workforce Freedom the ability of employers to make faith-based decisions without fear of losing their standing or access to opportunities.

ICYMI: We've released the official #BiblicalBusinessIndex results for Florida and we are very pleased to report that the Sunshine State is headed in the right direction!
“This past year, Florida lawmakers moved meaningfully closer to policies grounded in biblical values and limited-government principles, and that has real-world consequences for employers, families, and communities,” said Margaret Iuculano, President of the Christian Employers Alliance. “When state policy better reflects these standards, it strengthens confidence for faith-based employers looking to grow, hire, and invest. Florida’s improved alignment sends a clear message that the state is open for business, open for opportunity, and committed to protecting the freedom to operate according to conscience.”

North Carolina: A National Leader in Biblical Stewardship 🏔️🏙️
The Christian Employers Alliance (CEA) has officially released the North Carolina Edition of its Biblical Business Index (BBI), and the results place the Tar Heel State at the forefront of the national landscape.
North Carolina now outpaces every other state evaluated to date—trailing only Tennessee—demonstrating a legislative culture that consistently prioritizes scriptural values and economic freedom.
Key Highlights from the NC BBI:
97 Award Recipients: Nearly 60% of the North Carolina General Assembly (97 of 170 members) earned the Defender of Biblical Business Award for voting in alignment with biblical principles at least 80% of the time.
Open for Business: The data confirms that NC is an outstanding destination for faith-based employers to locate and invest, thanks to a focus on religious freedom and opposition to politicized mandates.
Legislative Leadership: CEA applauded Speaker Destin Hall and President Phil Berger for fostering a climate that strengthens the business community through transparency and biblical stewardship.

Indiana Lawmakers: DIVIDED on Conviction 📉🌽
The Christian Employers Alliance (CEA) has released the Indiana Biblical Business Index (BBI), and the results highlight a major philosophical divide in the statehouse. While many campaign on shared values, the data from nearly 7,500 individual votes reveals a complex landscape for the sacred marketplace. https://t.co/Ls7mvefWnQ
The Indiana BBI Breakdown:
42% Award Rate: Only 63 of the 150 members earned the Defender of Biblical Business Award for voting in alignment with scriptural principles at least 80% of the time—a sharp contrast to Tennessee's 75% success rate.
Regulation & Freedom: The index uncovered deep splits over expanding economic freedom, specifically regarding red tape in the energy sector and housing development.
Healthcare Integrity: Significant divides were recorded on healthcare transparency and measures to strengthen the integrity of the Medicaid and welfare systems.
Transparent government matters because accountability matters, and voters deserve clarity about whether lawmakers’ actions match their promises.
