🚨📰 Bulgarian migrant in £54m benefits swindle now back claiming Universal Credit

Tsvetka Todorova, a Bulgarian woman jailed for a £54 million benefit scam, is now living freely in the UK on Universal Credit. Todorova, 54, was one of five Bulgarians who spent tens of millions of pounds on luxury cars and designer clothes after making fraudulent claims.

Imprisoned for three years in May 2024, Todorova was released in late 2025 after serving half her sentence. At a confiscation hearing in January, she was ordered to repay £101,201.78 but has only so far paid £18,228.14, according to The Sun.

She later told reporters she’s been living in the UK on benefits since December. This is thanks to her husband receiving over £1,000 a month in Universal Credit. This payment is designed to help with living costs for those on low income or out of work.

Shouldn’t she have been deported back to Bulgaria?
