@yonikarney_ I can’t find confirmation of cancellation of IGCSEs - Student is studying for Pearson exam board - please can you provide a link confirming cancellation- thank you
@BBCNews secondary schools are not on an extended Christmas holiday - staff have worked hard to provide online learning resources and my yr 11 and yr 12 are both working from this morning.
I have put my bow tie on to make an announcement. Things are looking pretty rough as the pandemic throws more and more at us. It’s hard. BUT... we are nearing the shortest day here in the UK so from next week the nights start getting lighter. Find the positives where you can 🐾🐾
@darryldurno The tier system continues over the Christmas period with the only exemption being that you can meet up with a bubble of two other households in your home. So in tier 3 still no pubs/restaurants. Travel outside your tier limited although can travel to meet up with bubble.
@LancashireCC Seems likely to be linked to a refusal to give refunds for those dates by arguing people can travel so no right to cancel if they choose not to. Doesn’t affect our booking but seems unfair.
@LancashireCC What about travel to stay with your own household in a holiday let in a lower tier? Our dates are outside the 5 day period so we’re not affected (can’t go which is ok) but letting company appear to be telling tier 3 they can travel for all holidays not just to meet with bubble.
@BootstrapCook Being in then out repeatedly while the lack of proper testing allows the usual autumn bugs to cause mayhem in case they’re Covid (but probably not)Then how GCSEs will be fair considering fee paying schools had zoom lessons over lockdown and others had emails and no marking 🤷🏻♀️
@MichaelRosenYes 2/2 Then consider that some 6th form colleges are only offering 1 day a week face to face teaching from this week. They’re not all back full time - after all they can stay home without their parents. Seems their need for education isn’t the same as primary school pupils 🤔
@MichaelRosenYes The difference in the standard of online teaching during lockdown has been so big that we are returning to school at different starting blocks in the race and our children will never catch up with the private school pupils. 1/2
@Keir_Starmer There needs to be a recognition of the huge differences between the standard of online provision to date between schools and also a realisation of the fact that some 6th forms are only going back one day a week. There is no level playing field. Fee paying schools on top again.
